Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 Design
As previously mentioned, the only external design modification to the earbuds from their predecessor is the availability of three new colors: copper graphite, white silver, and black graphite. The white model from the previous model was all white, and the copper graphite color was completely new.
Although not everyone found the Momentum True Wireless 3 to fit well, I had no serious problems with the design, and they fit my ears nicely. One of my favorite brands of ear tips is Sennheiser; the large tips always help me get a tight seal, and the buds come with two sizes of rubber fins to help ensure a secure fit. However, compared to other buds, these are a little bit larger and protrude from your ears, especially if your ears are small. It weighs 6.2 grams per bud. The AirPods Pro 2 weighs 5.3 grams in contrast.
Once more, there hasn’t been much of a redesign from the previous model. Reactive and well-functioning touch controls are still available, as are ear-detection sensors that pause playback when you remove an earbud and resume it when you replace it. The other person sounds direct and clear when you are speaking with them, but during testing, we do sound muffled compared to when we are wearing the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds. While the Sennheisers are superior to the Bose in terms of blocking out outside noise during calls, the Sony WF-1000XM5 is still a better option when it comes to reducing background noise during calls.
Noise Cancelling
Sennheiser says the Momentum True Wireless 4 has better active noise canceling (ANC) and call quality for people who enjoy using earbuds while they’re out and about. First off, compared to the previous model, each earbud now has three better microphones. Furthermore, the Qualcomm chip’s integrated AI will not only assist with noise cancellation but also learn how your voice sounds and be able to cut down on background voices and noise while maintaining your audibility. A firmware update in the future will add this feature.
Although the noise cancellation is up to par, it doesn’t completely block out outside noise like the best in its class. A broader spectrum of frequencies and background noises are muffled by the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds. We put the Sennheisers to the test in a crowded pub setting, and the Momentum True Wireless 4 picked up more noise than the Bose—especially in the higher frequencies. We discovered that the Sennheisers and the AirPods Pro 2 were more comparable.
